講者簡介：
Grace J. Yoo博士是舊金山州立大學的教授。Yoo教授接受過醫學社會學和公共衛生方面的培訓，其關注亞裔美國人的健康不平等現象、有色人種女性與乳癌的關係、韓裔美國人家庭的老齡化、社會支持等。其著作《跨代關懷：韓裔美國人家庭的聯繫生活》（Caring Across Generations: The Linked Lives of Korean American Families ）獲得了2015年美國社會學協會/亞洲及亞裔美國人的最佳書籍獎。
講座簡介：
In the United States, Asian Americans are often stereotyped as a "healthy minority." Yet Asian American groups are experiencing increasing incidence rates of cancer and diabetes. Despite this increase, very little studies exist on how Asian Americans receive and seek support. In this presentation, Professor Yoo will provide an overview of the illness experiences among Asian American groups in the U.S. She will also share several of her studies including: "carework" of children of aging Korean immigrants; meanings of social support among Asian American women breast cancer survivors; and family support among older Fillipino Americans with type 2 diabetes.
